The Brownsville Community Foundation was founded with the mission of improving the lives of people in Brownsville by creating a permanent endowment in order to respond to community needs. It is also provides a vehicle and service for donors with varied interests while serving the philanthropic community.
The Brownsville Foundation for Health & Education Grants (the “Foundation Grants”) were established to enable, through the provision of financial assistance, the creation or continued operation of a variety of health care, educational and charitable activities designed to improve the quality of life in the Brownsville community.

The mission of the Foundation is to nurture and advance activities which contribute to the following core values:
- Helping break the cycle of poverty
- Assisting people to help themselves
- Nurturing support and love for Catholic institutions
- Developing the Catholic faith
- Cooperative/collaborative partnership
The purpose of The Brown Foundation, Inc. is to distribute funds for public charitable purposes, principally for support, encouragement and assistance to education, the arts and community service.
